WM Bond Advisory Committee 2025

WM Bond Advisory Committee Seeking Participants for Long-Range Facility Planning

The West Marshall Board of Education is moving forward with continued Long-Range Planning Goals after the failed referendum that was short of the 60% majority in November 2024. That being said, we are seeking additional members to join this past year’s Bonding Advisory Committee to provide input and discussion on continuing next steps for West Marshall’s infrastructure needs.

The approach to our “Long-Range Planning” includes the facilitation of community/stakeholder meetings with our Architect Partners (Studio MELEE) as well as a new additional partner ICAT (Iowa Construction Advocate Team). These two companies are able to assist with planning, design, and costing-estimation, all while projecting current market conditions for project costs (once determined as a best course of action).

About the Committee & How to Sign Up:

Any Parents, Staff, and Community Members interested in joining the committee are invited to complete a Participation Form by March 21st, 2025.

The form will remain open throughout this process until we find representatives who are willing and able to serve. Once your form is submitted, district staff will follow up directly with details, pending current participating numbers at that time.

Our first informational meeting will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in the High School Library for those interested in participating. At this meeting, we will set calendar dates for 5 additional meetings (or as necessary), based on the completion of work with recommendations to the Board of Education.

NOTE: Those members who served on last year’s Bonding Advisory Committee will NOT need to complete a new survey and your continued participation is assumed moving forward. Please email bhoneck@wmcsd.org or jlarge@wmcsd.org if you have additional questions or no longer wish to be on the committee.

Thank you for your consideration to be part of this committee on behalf of West Marshall’s infrastructure needs!
