CHROMEBOOK USAGE AGREEMENT K-12th Grade

To be completed annually by all students transporting the device home daily.
  • 1 to 1 Chromebook Check-Out

    The mission of the 1-to­-1 program for West Marshall Schools is to create a collaborative learning environment for all learners. This environment will enable and support students and teachers to implement transformative uses of technology while enhancing students’ engagement with content and promoting the development of self ­directed, responsible life­long learners and users. Students will transition from consumers of information to creative producers and owners of knowledge.
  • General Guidelines

    General Guidelines: Treat this equipment with as much care as if it were your own property. No food or drink should ever be near your Chromebook. Do not attempt to remove or change the physical structure of the computer, including the keys, screen cover, or plastic casing. If these actions are taken, families will be responsible for 100% of the repair or replacement cost. Here are some examples: Keys are ripped off Charging port is pulled out/pushed in, not allowing the laptop to take a charge. If a students (6th-12th) wishes to purchase one of the approved computer covers the student may appropriately decorate the exterior of the cover using stickers or labels. Students are not allowed to purchased unapproved covers or skins for their Chromebook. Cords, cables, and removable storage devices must be inserted carefully into the Chromebook. Do not expose your Chromebook to extreme temperature or direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Extreme heat or cold may cause damage to the Chromebook.
  • Using Your Chromebook Outside of School

    Students are encouraged to use their Chromebooks at home and other locations outside of school. The local libraries have Internet access for students who do not have Internet available to them at home. A Wi-Fi Internet connection will be necessary for the majority of Chromebook use; however, some applications can be used while not connected to the Internet. Students are bound by the West Marshall Schools Acceptable Use of Technology Policy, Administrative Procedures, acceptable use agreement, and all other guidelines outlined in school board polices.
  • Virtual Learning (Online Learning)

    If the district determines to move to a virtual learning platform when an emergency occurs, students in grades Kindergarten-12th grade will have the opportunity to transport a chromebook and charger to and from home. Students DO NOT need to transport a chromebook, IF the household has an available device with WiFi connectivity and can access GOOGLE-CHROME Browser.
  • Understanding the Cost for Damages (When fault is determined by administration)

    Full Replacement of Chromebook $320.00 est. Replacement of Charging Cord (Charger) $18.00 est. Replacement of Broken Screen $50.00 + $8.00 repair fee est. Replacement of Missing Carrying Bag $45.00 est.
